Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

The School of Economics at Universidad del Rosario (Bogotá, Colombia) invites applications for full-time School positions. The opening is for an Assistant/Associate/Full professor position in Finance beginning in 2025.

Our School offers five graduate programs (PhD. in Economics, Master in Economics, Master in Finance, Master in Quantitative Finance, and Master in Economics of Public Policy), and three undergraduate programs (Economics, and Finance & International Trade, Data and Market Analytics).

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree by the start date of the appointment and show promise of exceptional scholarly achievement in the area of finance. The duties of this full-time position comprise of a balance of teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities including:

  • Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Conducting high-quality financial research leading to publications in leading field academic journals.
  • Performing appropriate departmental administrative activities and engaging with the academic community of the school.

Candidates with research interests in all areas of finance are encouraged to apply.

The School of Economics at Universidad del Rosario is one of the most prestigious in Latin America. Our School has one of the most internationally diverse faculties in Latin America, with School members from Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Germany, Guatemala, Spain, Turkey, and Colombia.

Research and Academic Programs

The research conducted by the School has been published in leading journals such as: Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Economic Theory, AEJ: Applied, Review of Economics and Statistics, Economic Journal, Management Science, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of International Economics, Games and Economic Behavior, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Development Economics and Journal of Empirical Finance.

We organize a weekly research seminar and seven thematic workshops: Applied Micro, Experimental and Behavioral, Finance, IO and Competition, Labor, Macro.

Our School offers five graduate programs (PhD. in Economics, Master in Economics, Master in Finance, Master in Quantitative Finance, and Master in Economics of Public Policy), and three undergraduate programs (Economics, and Finance & International Trade, Data and Market Analytics).

Working Conditions

School members are entitled to a competitive 12-month salary as well as generous monetary incentives for publications, which are increasing in the journal’s quality. In addition, incoming School receive a research stipend. Every School member is offered a permanent contract, and promotions are awarded based on academic productivity.

On top of the School’s research funds, School members are entitled to apply to university-wide research grants on a yearly basis.

Incoming School teaches two courses during the first 3 semesters, and 3 courses per year thereafter. Starting in their second year, School members are expected to engage in some reduced administrative duties. International School are not required to teach in Spanish.
