Is the Principal Investigator for the Fairwork project in Chile. He is an associate professor of communications at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (UAI-Chile), where conducts research at the intersection of media, technology, and society. He also is the Director of Social Media Culture, a research laboratory based at the School of Communications and Journalism at UAI that studies the role of social media and platforms in social and economic life. Since, 2022 he is also an Associate Researcher in the Millennium Center on the Evolution of Work (MNEW), a multidisciplinary project to studying the future of work funded by Chile’s National Agency for Research and Development (ANID).

Is a Co-Investigator for the Fairwork project in India. She is also an Assistant Professor at the International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-Bangalore). Janaki has a PhD in Information Management and Systems from UC Berkeley and Masters degrees in Physics and in Information Technology from IIT Delhi and IIIT Bangalore. Her research examines the politics of information technology-based development.

Her work has shown how gender, class and caste shape Indian digital inclusion initiatives, focussed on community computer centres, mobile phones, identity systems and open information systems. Currently, she is exploring privacy, algorithmic control and the role of intermediaries in digital exchanges.

Is the Principal Investigator for Fairwork Tanzania. She is a researcher at the REPOA – the number one think-tank in Tanzania. She holds a Ph.D. from Waseda University – Japan, majoring in ICT Economics, Business, and Policy. Hilda’s research focuses on the intersection of the digital economy, labour markets, and gender. Within this broad frame, she uses empirical evidence methodologies and critical theories to analyse the utilization of digital technologies to attain sustainable development goals specifically on ending poverty of all forms, gender equality, and decent jobs goals.

Is the Principal Investigator for the Fairwork project in Serbia. She is also Co-founder and Programme Director of the Public Policy Research Center, Belgrade based think tank. She holds MAs in public administration from the Harvard University (United States), and in the international relations from the Central European University (Hungary). Her BA is in the comparative literature and theory of literature from the University of Belgrade (Serbia). Her research interests focus on labour markets and non-standard forms of employment in the context of the knowledge-based economy and digital transformation.  Branka is the lead author and editor of several pioneering studies about the platform economy and platform-mediated work in Serbia, including GigmeterTM, which presents data about remote workers on global online platforms from Serbia and other Southeast European countries in terms of gender, income and occupations.
