DESCRIPCIÓN DEL PROGRAMA

The Data and Market Analytics program aims to develop professionals who are experts in understanding the dynamics, problems, and needs of markets using elements of economic theory, in particular behavioral economics, and statistics. We train professionals in data and market analytics with high-level technical skills to utilize information from social interactions in different contexts and sectors. Professionals will apply their knowledge of data science and econometrics tools to provide solutions, bring new products or lines of business to the market, contribute to business or economic activity forecasting, or to ensure the impact of economic or public policies in the country.

Our academic and professional training has the UR Steam stamp. This is a hallmark of a varied interdisciplinary approach, which is closely linked to the industry through strategic partnerships to enhance learning. The approach is based on the consistent use of labs and real databases, as well as promoting ongoing training and international certifications in data analytics and programming.

The Data and Market Analytics course focuses on three main areas: economic theory, with a focus on behavioral economics; mathematical, statistical and programming skills; coupled with applied and experiential training with a critical and socially committed approach.  

It offers the opportunity to study minors in fields such as economics, finance, data science, economic policy, public policy, actuarial science, behavioral economics and finance, fintech, experience marketing, and more.

student profile

Applicants to the Data and Market Analytics program should have a strong interest in understanding the interactions between individuals, businesses, and institutions in the economic and financial spheres, and their impact on well-being and individual and social decision-making processes. An interest in mathematics, information (data) analysis, and computer programming will be useful for understanding phenomena that may arise in the markets and finding correlations, associations and interrelationships between sectors in the data to make informed decisions.

Graduates in Data and Market Analytics are ethical professionals, with a commitment to service, and with solid technical, computational, quantitative, and critical thinking skills. These competencies allow them to contribute to the design, analysis, and evaluation of public policies and new lines of business.  

They will be equipped to: 1) Make decisions to help public or private organizations adapt to market dynamics; 2) Understand the intentions of consumers and suppliers and analyze projections for specific markets; 3) Use cutting-edge statistical and econometric techniques; 4) Conduct analyses of consumers/individuals/companies based on behavioral economics.  

Graduates will also have the opportunity to continue their postgraduate education in fields such as economics, finance, statistics, mathematics, marketing, and engineering.

We train professionals with solid technical, computational, quantitative, and critical thinking skills that allow them to contribute to the design, analysis, and evaluation of public and business policies. They are able to give recommendations or make decisions that enable public or private entities to adapt to the dynamics of the diverse markets in which they operate. In addition to being trained in the elements of economic theory, graduates will have the technical knowledge to understand the intentions of consumers and suppliers, as well as growth projections for specific markets. These tools include the use of cutting-edge statistical and econometric techniques, including the handling of large or rapidly changing databases, as well as the use of consumer/individual/company analysis tools based on the theoretical foundation of behavioral economics.  

Data and Market Analytics graduates are equipped to work in:

  • Entities whose mission involves analyzing administrative data to inform public policy decisions

Thirty-one percent of our teachers are from abroad, including from Germany, Argentina, Ecuador, Spain, Guatemala, Turkey, and Peru. All full-time professors in the School hold a PhD, and teaching professors have either a master's degree or a PhD, along with industry experience, ensuring a high-quality and high-level education.
